Walter Brueggemann says “The contemporary American church is so largely enculturated to the American ethos of consumerism that it has little power to believe or act.” The same is true for the Australian church. We are all shaped by our culture, and our culture is shaped by consumerism in a way we are not even conscious of… and at the heart of it all is our money.
