Project 1: Citywide Signage
Cost: Total of $20,000
The problem: The signage at Citywide:Mornington is very faded and doesn’t represent Citywide with the love and vibrancy deserved. Citywide:Lenah Valley is difficult to notice from the road and many people living in Lenah Valley don’t notice there is a church there. Time for Citywide:Lenah Valley and Hobart Nepalese Church to stand out and be noticed.
The solution: We have 5 signs planned.
Cambridge Rd Main Sign: The main sign at Citywide on Cambridge Rd will be back-lit and get a new coat of paint. ($5,000)
Cambridge Rd Driveway Sign: Will get a more contemporary frame and have a sign that can promote our Sunday Service, and a couple of the businesses found on site like Namaste and GymSport. ($2,000)
Tasman Hwy Big Sign: The large sign on the Tasman Hwy will get a cheap place-filler sign that looks good, but as this sign is not very noticeable from the Hwy, we’ll just keep this one ticking along quietly. It’ll get a fresh coat of paint. ($2,000)
Citywide Building Sign: We’d like to place a huge ‘Citywide’ sign across the heating units facing the Tasman Hwy. This will be noticed by thousands of cars passing by each week. If we can raise enough money, this one will also be back-lit. ($8,000)
Lanah Valley: We will have a sign out the front by the road highlighting both congregations that meet in the building. Design yet to come. ($3,000)

Project 2: Youth Area
Cost: $20,000
The Vision: We’d love to have a space for our young people to call their own. The space by the roller-door has been used mainly as a dumping ground and we feel we can put this to better use.
The Solution: Seating, a TV and games console, Darts, Lighting. The largest cost will be replacing the roller-door with something that insulates sound and temperature.
People have donated around $7,300 towards this project in 2023.

Project 3: Painting Citywide:Mornington
Cost: $5,000 and many hours of volunteering
The Problem: Citywide’s Purple walls are faded and need to be repainted.
The ask: 160 Litres of paint and hundreds of volunteer hours.

Project 4: Lenah Valley Chairs
Cost: $10,000
The Problem: Lenah Valley’s chairs are becoming thread-bear and need to be replaced. We don’t like the environmental impact of replacing the whole units so are looking at getting the cushions recovered. It’s almost the same cost of full replacement, but the finished product will last much longer due to the use of better fabrics.
The ask: We are wondering if people would be willing to donate towards the re-upholstering of a chair or 5. There are around 120 chairs in total and it is about $85 per chair to do.
