Project 1: Carpet at Citywide
Cost: $30,000
The problem: Carpets at Mornington are mostly 25 years old. The auditorium in particular is no longer presentable, especially for external hires. The Lounge has water-damage and mould. The Montagu room was a temporary solution when put down and the foyer and café area has different carpets that don’t present well, mostly due to colour clashes. The carpeted floor area of Mornington is 750m2.
The solution: Carpet tiles are the norm for office and hospitality venues now. If one area gets damaged, it is easily replaced. The tiles we are choosing have a 15yr guarantee. If we lay the tiles ourselves we save an additional $9,000. We want our Mornington Venue to be desirable to external hires and feel a cohesive carpet solution will aid this.
The ask: We’re asking people to donate what they feel they can. This can be either:
- single carpet tile (1/4m2) $12.25
- A box of 20 carpet tiles (5m2) $245.00
- An area of 20m2 $980.00

Project 2: Youth Area
Cost: $15,000
The Vision: We’d love to have a space for our young people to call their own. The space by the roller-door has been used mainly as a dumping ground and we feel we can put this to better use.
The Solution: Seating, a TV and games console, Darts, Lighting. The largest cost will be replacing the roller-door with something that insulates sound and temperature.

Project 3: Heating at Lenah Valley
Cost: $7,000
The Problem: 1) The heaters are dangerous as children can stick fingers in it, or objects can be dropped into the heaters.
2) By afternoons in the summer, the Lenah Valley auditorium is very hot.
3) The cost of the heating can be significantly reduced
The ask: We’d like to install two HeatPumps (one on back wall, one on Eastern side wall).

Project 4: Lighting in the Auditorium
Cost: $3,500
The Problem: We have a large, dark patch in the centre of our auditorium but often require consistent light.
The ask: We would like to install lighting so we can have consistent light throughout the auditorium. This will involve three rows of 5 pendant lights to match the lights in the rest of the space.
We have received donations for the lighting and so are no longer taking donations.
